Restores the environment

The Bank, through a long-term partnership with the Indonesian Biodiversity Foundation (KEHATI) and other strategic partners, has been implementing a bamboo conservation program for more than ten years by planting various superior bamboo species across several regions in Indonesia, including Lombok, Bali, Flores, Magelang, and Manggarai Raya, with total plantings reaching 115,400 bamboo by 2025, supported by the cultivation of more than 6,000 economically valuable plants for local communities. In line with these conservation efforts, the Bank has also developed eco‑edu‑tourism villages in the Rarung Forest Area for Special Purposes (Lombok) and Wogo Village (Flores), integrating nature conservation, community economic empowerment, and environmental awareness through active local community participation, while also contributing to climate change mitigation with a carbon sequestration potential of more than 15,000 tons of CO₂ equivalent since 2019.
